VISA APPLICATIONS

Unfortunately, no matter how epic and exciting you try to make a trip, somebody somewhere decides to drown you in paperwork. The incredibly tedious task of visa applications seem to have this down to an art, with the questions seemingly being both deliberately vague, yet incredibly specific. Thankfully, we discovered the incredibly helpful souls at Real Russia, who have put up with our constant pestering and general uselessness. Somehow, we have actually got to a point where we can send off all of our visa applications and leave the work in the hands of the various embassies involved! Hooray! This isn't the end of our task though, with Russian visa applications requiring a compulsory personal visit to the embassy in London for a photoshoot and some fingerprints. Luckily for us, the British Passport manages to get us into most countries on our trip without the need for a visa, including Georgia, Kazakhstan (for now at least), and Mongolia. This meant that we only had to apply for three visas, one of which was for Turkey which took 5 minutes to do online (why can't they all be like that?!). Anyway, we'll hopefully hear back in the next few weeks whether or not we'll actually be allowed into these countries, leaving us one less admin task away from our adventure! As always, you can donate to our charity Cool Earth on our fundraising page here. Please spare anything you can as it will really help us reach our target, and the work they do really does make a difference! Thanks for all the support so far from everyone, it's really kept us going. Stay safe x
